Enterprise Resilience Made Even Stronger, Simpler, and Safer

Today, we’re excited to announce that Veeam Data Platform Premium’s capabilities are expanding! Veeam Recovery Orchestrator, our flagship orchestrated recovery engine that drives enterprise resilience, is out with another update. Even though it’s only been a few months since our last release, in true Veeam fashion, we iterate, innovate, and most importantly, deliver updates as soon as possible.

It’s no secret that keeping your data safe without restricting you to a specific platform or vendor lock-in is top of mind for just about every business these days. Data portability and data security are two of Veeam’s key pillars, or guiding principles that we use to ensure that we not only meet but exceed expectations while providing a level of trust that is rare to find in today’s market. With that, let’s dig into what you can expect from this release.

Your Data, Your Way

Enterprises of all sizes don’t just want flexibility; they need it. At a moment’s notice, you might find yourself exploring and navigating new platforms, technologies, or regulatory compliance challenges. It’s no secret that the hypervisor market has seen a massive shake up, and for many customers, that trouble and turmoil is still being felt today.

Earlier this year, we announced support for Microsoft Hyper-V clusters as a destination for your orchestrated recovery. Whether you are looking to create disaster recovery (DR) plans for a new hypervisor or performing a full-fledged migration, Veeam Recovery Orchestrator is another tool in your toolbelt. With this latest release, we are expanding those capabilities and introducing even more flexibility.

First, standalone Hyper-V clusters will now be supported, which opens possibilities for situations where System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) may not be present. This can be a huge driver when it comes to planning, testing, and implementing new toolsets and capabilities. Secondly, Azure Local is now supported, allowing customers who are deep into their hybrid-cloud journey to embrace a truly versatile DR solution.

MFA for Critical DR Controls

Cyberthreats and compliance are two separate entities that often overlap. It is no secret that threat actors are constantly targeting your backups. Capabilities such as immutability can go a long way to prevent damage or deletion, but at the end of the day, an in-depth defensive strategy will help bolster your security posture. Similarly, compliance requirements aren’t solely focused on aspects such as data retention policies or data locality. Restricting access to authorized users and roles is a large part of it as well.

One of the domains where these two areas intersect is in controlling access to systems. Only authorized users should be allowed to access these systems, and that access needs to be as strong as possible. Regardless of the use case, multi-factor authentication (MFA) will help meet that requirement while strengthening your defenses.

With the addition of MFA, organizations can help ensure that only trusted and authorized users can access, edit, and take action on your critical DR controls. For IT departments, this will add additional peace of mind, ease your audit-readiness, and align to industry best practices – all of which is essential in today’s regulatory landscape.

Built for the Future

Looking at this release holistically, every enhancement is designed to reduce organizational risk and strengthen defenses, all while giving you even greater control over where your data lives, both today and tomorrow. It offers you confidence that your DR strategy is resilient and ready for whatever comes next, whether that be an emerging cyberthreat or an unexpected business challenge. Whether you are looking to implement a Clean Room recovery, or add confidence to your Minimal Viable Business strategy, this latest release empowers your business continuity with orchestrated, automated, and auditable recovery at scale.

Innovation doesn’t have to mean increased complexity. Enterprises have enough challenges. Whether you are navigating platform changes, modernizing your DR playbooks, or reviewing and ratcheting up access controls, Veeam Recovery Orchestrator continues to raise the bar for what enterprise resilience looks like.
