Key Innovations and Data Resilience Highlights from VeeamON 2025

With over 60 sessions and more than 100 speakers, VeeamON 2025 was a resounding success. We’re thrilled you joined us — whether in San Diego or virtually — to continue to learn the transformative potential of data resilience. During three action-packed days, we introduced significant new products and features, presented groundbreaking research on ransomware protection and the state of data resilience, and much more.

Below is a comprehensive overview of the key announcements we unveiled during VeeamON 2025.

Data Resilience Maturity Model:

Only 50% of organizations are able to meet their recovery time objectives during a disruption, highlighting a critical gap in their data resilience.

To address this challenge, Veeam introduced the Data Resilience Maturity Model (DRMM), developed with insights from McKinsey, George Westerman (Principal Research Scientist at the MIT Sloan School of Management), and Veeam proprietary data. Along with experts from Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and Splunk, this new model is backed by input from over 500 enterprise executives.

Organizations increasingly recognize the need to adopt data resilience into their strategic IT priorities. 54% of respondents viewed data security as their most important focus. The Veeam DRMM provides a framework to help them achieve their data resilience goals. It empowers organizations to enhance their ability to protect, recover, and adapt through disruption. It uncovers resilience gaps and identifies actionable steps for organizations to minimize risk, reduce downtime, and boost recovery readiness.

From Risk to Resilience: 2025 Ransomware Trends and Proactive Strategies

We released our latest report, “From Risk to Resilience: 2025 Ransomware Trends and Proactive Strategies”. This insightful report explores emerging trends for 2025, based on data from 1,300 organizations — 900 of which experienced at least one ransomware attack in the last year. Notably, 69% of respondents who experienced an attack in the last 12 months felt they were prepared before being attacked, but their confidence dropped by more than 20% post-attack.

“From Risk to Resilience” highlights six key trends revealed by the survey, as well as in-depth analysis from Coveware by Veeam.

This report serves as a guide into how organizations can develop a comprehensive incident response playbook. It identifies five key strategies that more successful organizations utilized in their ransomware response:

  • Backup verifications
  • Backup copies and assured cleanliness
  • Alternative infrastructure arrangements
  • Containment or isolation plans
  • A pre-defined chain of command for response

Access this essential guide to dive deeper into these practical steps that organizations can implement to fortify their ransomware attack response and strengthen their data resilience in 2025.

New Integration for Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol

We unveiled an exciting integration with Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), marking a significant leap forward in unlocking the value of enterprise backup data for artificial intelligence (AI). This integration allows AI systems to securely access and utilize data stored in Veeam repositories, turning traditional data protection into a powerful foundation for smarter decision-making and innovative AI applications.

“We’re not just backing up data anymore — we’re opening it up for intelligence,” said Niraj Tolia, CTO at Veeam. With this new MCP integration, customers can leverage their Veeam backup data for a multitude of AI-driven use cases, such as using natural language queries to discover and retrieve documents, easy summarization of archived emails or tickets, an automated compliance and e-discover processes, and enrich AI agents with enterprise-specific context.

By bridging the gap between mission-critical protected data and the expanding ecosystem of AI tools, Veeam is empowering organizations to think strategically about their data’s value. Support for MCP will be incorporated into future releases of Veeam Data Cloud.

Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Entra ID

We showcased Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Entra ID, which streamlines data protection with comprehensive backups for users, groups, and critical logs. This addition to Veeam Data Cloud managed service includes automated scheduling, granular restore options, data sovereignty, and built-in security to keep your IAM environment resilient, measuring changes in real time and enabling swift recovery.

Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce

We highlighted Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce, a solution that provides advanced data management, monitoring, and secure backups for critical Salesforce data and metadata. It’s purpose-built for Salesforce and easy to use, ensuring robust data protection, granular restore capabilities, and integrated compliance measures — all while helping you reduce costs.

A New Partnership Between CrowdStrike and Veeam

We announced a strategic partnership with CrowdStrike to enhance data resilience and security across organization’s IT ecosystems. This collaboration integrates Veeam’s industry-leading data resilience capabilities with CrowdStrike’s AI-driven Falcon cybersecurity platform, providing centralized visibility of critical data and advanced threat detection.

The partnership introduces two new integrations, Veeam App for CrowdStrike Falcon LogScale and Veeam Data Connector for CrowdStrike Falcon Next-Gen SIEM.  The integrations allow organizations to view Veeam Data Platform events directly in CrowdStrike Falcon LogScale and Next-Gen SIEM for complete, real-time visibility, and threat detection. They provide organizations with immediate alerts, AI-driven backup scans, and centralized incident response ― all helping to improve compliance and protect backups with faster recovery from clean restore points.

CrowdStrike users can download these fully supported integrations for free. They are accessible via the CrowdStrike Marketplace for Veeam Data Platform Advanced and Premium users.
