Three years ago, in October 2022, we introduced Veeam Backup for Salesforce, helping our customers to address a critical gap in Salesforce data protection. Since then, many organizations have leveraged Veeam’s robust capabilities to safeguard their Salesforce data against accidental deletions, data corruption and compliance gaps. Developing this product, we were guided by Veeam’s core principles, so we offered it as an installable package that users could install anywhere they liked (on-prem datacenter, cloud VM or even on their laptop). Because of that architecture design, it became the first solution on the market that allowed them to fully control the protected data, ensuring an unprecedented level of security and compliance.
Over the years our vision has slightly evolved, and we embraced the Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) journey with the launch of Veeam Data Cloud. This unified cloud platform for data resilience has had massive success, consolidating and standardizing protection for systems like Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Microsoft Azure. Considering our customers’ positive feedback, it was only a question of time when the platform would expand further…
Today, we’re excited to announce its next chapter: Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce. This brings the proven power of Veeam Backup for Salesforce to the cloud, making comprehensive Salesforce data protection simpler, more accessible, and more flexible than ever.
A Cloud Journey Built on Proven Strength
Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce builds entirely upon the strengths of Veeam Backup for Salesforce, delivering virtually all core capabilities directly through a cloud-native experience. Customers now enjoy the convenience of managing Salesforce backups alongside other workloads — all from a unified simple console. This streamlined management approach saves time, simplifies operations, and ensures consistency across your data protection strategy.

Managing data across multiple Salesforce organizations can be complex, given the nature of this platform. We are fully aware of companies that have to manage several Salesforce production orgs as well as dozens of sandboxes and developer environments. With Veeam Data Cloud, you benefit from role-based access control, allowing various teams (ex. IT department, Backup administrators, Salesforce developers, Salesforce consultants, etc.) to securely manage one or multiple Salesforce orgs from the same intuitive interface but independently and with their own granular permissions ranging from “view only” to “full admin access”.

Comprehensive Protection, Tailored Recovery, Powerful Archival
This product is designed with simplicity in mind and let me give you a few examples to prove that. Initial configuration typically takes just a few minutes and during the process you’re guided by a user-friendly wizard in order to connect Veeam Data Cloud with your Salesforce org (tenant). Then the backup policy is automatically configured with as little as enabling just one toggle in the product interface. This policy ensures that all valuable information — Salesforce data, metadata, and files — are always protected according to best practices, and also encrypted for enhanced security out of the box. Add your email later and in a few clicks, you’ll enable email notifications about important product events, including my favorite option — data change. When the product “sees” a huge change in the environment (creation, update or deletion above the defined threshold) it would let you know immediately. This is an exceptionally powerful capability, because typically you have to act quickly to investigate the reason and possibly revert the change back.

When it comes to data recovery, we’ve got you covered with four distinct recovery options tailored to real-world scenarios:
- Restore records
Fully restore the record with all the fields and attachments associated with this record and the related object hierarchy.
- Restore field values.
Recover earlier versions of changed or deleted field values across multiple records.
- Restore files.
Restore changed and deleted content and attachments.
- Restore metadata.
Restore Salesforce metadata, including Apex classes, connected app configurations, reports, dashboards, etc.
All recovery options are powerful, allowing you to explore the historical versions of record, compare them between one another or with a current production environment. Also, you shouldn’t be worried about data dependencies, as you can ensure consistency by recovering child/parent dependent data alongside the actual recovery.

Recognizing that long-term data retention is essential for regulatory compliance and analytics, Veeam Data Cloud allows customers to enable an Archival Policy. This feature securely retains historical Salesforce data over extended periods of time, preserving valuable space at production and facilitating powerful historical data analysis.

Simplicity and Predictability
Veeam also understands the complexity and bill shock that can arise from multi-tiered pricing and packaging models that make it seemingly impossible to forecast spend and stay on budget. That’s why with Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce, everything is included in one, simple, per-user price point. Yes, that includes unlimited storage, data archival, sandbox seeding, data masking, and so much more. Better yet, through September 30th, we’re giving you 12 months for the price of 9, so those Salesforce data protection headaches you’ve been putting off are now easy to address.
Unified Data Protection, Future-Ready Today
The introduction of Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce marks another milestone in our commitment to delivering data resilience across various workloads including SaaS platforms.
